The GQF Model 1402 Electronic Sportsman Egg Incubator uses the GQF standard electronic thermostat which is pre-set at the factory for optimum poultry and game bird hatching.

Incubation temperature is adjustable between 98.5 deg. F and 100.5 deg. F. The Sportsman Model 1402 egg incubator contains three automatically turned trays, plus has a hatching tray in the bottom of the incubator. Settings are rotated among the three turning trays so that the hatching tray can accept the eggs from one of the setting trays each cycle. Another option is to set all the trays at one time and at the end of incubation, shut off the turner and hatch in the setting trays. The GQF Sportsman Model 1402 has a standard solid door with no window for observation.

• Major differences between the GQF Sportsman Model 1502 and GQF Sportsman Model 1402:

The GQF Sportsman Model 1402 is a cheaper alternative to the Model 1502 Digital Sportsman. The major differences between the two models are that the Model 1502 egg incubator has an observation window in the front whereas the Model 1402 egg incubator has a solid door.

Furthermore, the Sportsman Model 1502 has the digital command centre with digital temperature and humidity display whereas the Sportsman Model 1402 only has the electronic thermostat with analog temperature and humidity display. The Model 1502 is essentially a more advanced incubator and has more features that make it more user friendly.

• Egg Capacity

The Sportsman 1502 has three setting trays - each tray holds two egg racks - for a total of six egg racks. You can only double stack quail racks. This doubles the setter capacity to 1368 quail eggs

• Egg Racks
Plastic egg racks offer the most efficient system for gathering, spray disinfectant treating and storing eggs. At time of setting eggs, just remove loaded egg rack from storage area to the incubator setting trays.

We recommend the following egg racks for:

• Highly accurate pre-set Electronic Thermostat
This thermostat is factory pre-set to 100 deg. F for optimum poultry and game bird hatching (The thermostat can be adjusted by the user to different temperature settings if needed). The reading of the temperature and humidity can be done by looking at the dial thermometer/hygrometer supplied with the incubator. The electronic thermostat guarantees highly accurate temperature control which will lead to getting better hatch rates.

• Complete Incubation Instructions
This manual contains all the info you need on operating and managing the incubator. No prior knowledge about incubating eggs is needed. Simply follow the easy instructions and you will get great hatches from your first batch of eggs.

• 3 x Tuning trays and 1 x Hatching tray
Each turning tray can hold 2 egg racks (See below for details on egg racks). The turning trays turn hourly. The hatching basket acts as a hatcher during the last few days of the incubation process. Eggs are transferred from the trays to the hatcher towards the end of the incubation cycle.

• FREE Paper racks included 
Sample paper racks are included with the incubator. We do however recommend that you purchase plastic egg racks which are more durable and easier to use. See below for details on the egg racks

• Moisture pan with 2 x Wick pads
This provides the critical humidity necessary in the incubator in order to create the perfect incubation environment. You will need to refill the water pan every 2 to 3 days depending on your humidity needs. You can purchase the automatic humidifier as an optional extra.
